For more than 15 years, the Pilsen Region has been dedicated to supporting gifted and talented students. It organizes a wide range of leisure activities in extracurricular education facilities and district and regional rounds of knowledge competitions for gifted elementary and high school students. In 2023, the region began building a community of talent through the Smart Accelerator of the Pilsen Region III project. In addition to project days and excursions focused mainly on science and technology, the project also organizes GoHigher Cafés. At these irregular informal meetings, active secondary school students in the region have the opportunity to get to know each other, spend an afternoon together, and listen to the inspiring stories and experiences of their peers.
At the beginning of the project, the umbrella brand “GoHigher” was created, as well as a new web portal, www.podporatalentu.cz (only in CZ), where interested parties can find a clear overview of educational and leisure activities, application deadlines, the possibility to apply and register, and a direct link to the organizer’s website. From the database of experts, they can choose an expert in the field they are interested in and connect with them directly.
